Dear Juniors & Parents/Guardians, 

 

Thank you for joining us over the last week for our introductory program! Below are next steps:

  • BY DECEMBER 20:
    • Watch the recording of the Intro Presentation if you missed it or need a refresher.
    • Mark your calendar for upcoming programs and dates, including the required:
      • Virtual Introduction to the College Process (Part 2), Thursday, January 8, 7-8:30 pm, Join the Webinar here.
      • College VPs, Deans & Directors Program:
        • (Parents & Guardians only): Thursday, May 7, 6-9 pm
        • (Students only): Friday, May 9, school-day
  • BY JANUARY 5: 
    • Parents/Guardians complete the Parent/Guardian Questionnaire. If more than one parent/guardian wishes to respond, they may do so jointly or by submitting separate responses.
    • Students complete their conversations with Addie, the AI Powered College Counselor. 
      • Read these instructions, designed to get you started in under one minute. 
      • If you haven’t already, the FAQs we provided at the introductory program. 
    • Students & Parents/Guardians reflect upon how they’d like to approach the college process, and initiate conversations about healthy boundaries and expectations for communicating about the college process.
      • Read the office’s Best & Worst Practices for Students.
      • Read the office’s Best & Worst Practices for Parents/Guardians.
  • By February 26:
    • (Parents/Guardians): If you’re considering applying for need-based financial aid, schedule a financial aid estimate meeting with Paul Martin from College Money Method (Paul will post more availability by the end of December) or use a net price calculators on colleges' websites to estimate financial aid eligibility.

While the college counseling office will be closed for winter break, My Worthman will check email periodically (every 3-4 days) to answer questions from students if they have difficulties navigating Addie. He can be reached at info@lakesideschool.site.
