Lakeside School

Lakeside will host artistic director, choreographer, and storyteller Melba Ayco on Wednesday, March 12 for the Dan Ayrault Memorial Lecture. 

Founder and artistic director of Northwest Tap Connection, Melba Ayco is a choreographer, Gullah-Geechee and Creole storyteller, and tap dance historian. She received a Mayor’s Art Award in 2009 for her leadership in the Seattle arts community, Africatown’s Community Builder designation, and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Medal of Distinguished Service.

The lecture starts at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. Lectures are free of charge and open to all members of the Lakeside community. Registration is required and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Register here.
